What’s on in Brisbane: Festivals to Check Out
Whether you’ve arrived in Brisbane & Brisbane Surrounds from interstate or flown in internationally there are plenty of Festivals regardless of season to check out.
Chinese New Year Festival
When: February 28th
What: Including firecrackers, lion dances, and an array of Chinese culture showcased. This is a great day out for the family with plenty to do for all.
When: March 26th – April 8th
What: Picnics and many activities are all set by Bramble Bay leading up to the famous QantasLink Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht race and the fabulous Bluewater Bay Fire Night.
The Story Bridge 75 Festival
When: July 5th
What: The festival celebrating the Iconic Story Bridge’s 75th Birthday. On Sunday the actual bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic and host an outdoor food, music, & arts celebration of the Story Bridge. You will find featured over 100 stalls from the Eat Street Markets and more.
The Brisbane French Festival
When: July 11th
What: In its 5th year of providing an amazing experience and celebration of French culture; food, fashion and entertainment .
The Brisbane Festival
When: Sept 5th – 26th
What: The states most major international arts festival covering the whole month of September. There will be music, dance opera, theatre, and some major public events.

Brisbane Tennis International
When: January 4th – January 11th
What: A must not miss, with origins of the event dating back from 1970’s. Go see the stars of the tennis world come together with the start of the Tennis Summer Series
Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race
When: April 3rd
What: This is the 67th year that the famous yacht race has been run and is the flagship of Australia Yacht Races. Setting sail from the magnificent Moreton Bay on Good Friday and finishing in Gladstone Harbour. There are many activities as well as the Blue Water Festival around this event.
When: August 7th – August 16th
What: Where country meets city. This is Queensland’s largest and most loved Event. The EKKA features over 20,000 competition entries, 10,000 animals and an array of award winning exhibits and free family entertainment. The EKKA is celebrating its 138th show. It’s been called a true Queensland experience a definite must not miss
